Our mission is to empower veterans in Arkansas by providing hands-on training in woodworking and cabinetry, while giving back through projects that directly benefit fellow veterans and veteran organizations.

Our vision is a community where veterans thrive in civilian life through craftsmanship, purpose, and connection.

Veteran Build Month

Inaugural Session October, 2026

Every October, Hearth & Grain Woodworks pauses its for-profit operations so the Hearth & Grain Foundation can host a month-long immersive training program for veterans.

Participants receive housing, meals, and woodworking education while completing a major cabinetry service project that’s donated to a veteran or veteran organization in Saline County.

  • Lodging

Local hotels sponsor rooms for veterans from outside of the immediate area.

  • Meals

Local restaurants sponsor meal vouchers to participating veterans.

  • Tools

Tool companies donate hand tools and aprons for the veterans to use and take home after build month.

  • Partnerships

Local builders and contractors partner with us to complete the installation of our service project.

*Sponsors are recognized on program T-shirts, veteran welcome baskets, the Foundation website, and at community events.
